Government has launched a new Aadhaar Governance Portal to enhance citizen services and ease of living.
It is the initiative of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) in alignment with recent amendments to the Aadhaar Authentication for Good Governance (Social Welfare, Innovation, Knowledge) Rules, 2025, under the Aadhaar Act of 2016.
Streamlined Approval Process
The portal automates and simplifies approvals for Aadhaar authentication requests, reducing bureaucratic delays. Entities (government and private) can now apply digitally via swik.meity.gov.in, with clear regulatory guidelines ensuring faster processing.
Citizen-Centric Service Delivery
By enabling seamless Aadhaar authentication, the portal aims to improve access to welfare services (e.g., subsidies, healthcare) and simplify identity verification for citizens, directly supporting the government’s "ease of living" agenda.
Expansion of Aadhaar Use Cases
