The Union Minister of State (I/C) for Ayush informed the Rajya Sabha on the Ayush Oushadhi Gunvatta evam Uttpadan Samvardhan Yojana.
It is a Central Sector Scheme developed by the Ministry of Ayush to regulate Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani, and Homeopathy (ASU&H) medicines under the framework of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act of 1940.
To strengthen manufacturing capabilities and exports of traditional medicines and health promotion products as part of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
To improve infrastructure and technology in both the public and private sectors to standardize, manufacture, and test Ayush drugs and materials.
To strengthen regulatory frameworks at the national and state levels to ensure effective quality control, safety monitoring, and surveillance of misleading Ayush drug advertisements.
Encourage cooperation, collaborations, and convergent approaches to improve the standards and quality of Ayush drugs and materials.
Strengthening and upgrading Ayush Pharmacies and Drug Testing Laboratories to meet higher standards.
Pharmacovigilance of Ayush drugs, including monitoring for misleading advertisements.
Strengthening regulatory frameworks at the national and state levels, as well as technical human resource and capacity-building programs for Ayush drugs.
Supporting the development of standards and accreditation/certification of Ayush products and materials in collaboration with the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), the Quality Council of India (QCI), and other relevant scientific institutions and industrial R&D facilities.
Ayush Oushadhi Gunvatta evam Uttpadan Samvardhan Yojana aims to strengthen regulatory frameworks at both the central and state levels to ensure effective quality control and safety monitoring, and to reduce misleading advertisements for Ayush drugs. |
