CHINCHOLI WILDLIFE SANCTUARY

Chincholi Wildlife Sanctuary, located in Kalaburagi district, North Karnataka, was established in 2011. Known as the "Ooty of Telangana," it is South India's first terrestrial nature reserve. The sanctuary features dry and moist deciduous forests, rich flora like medicinal herbs, and diverse fauna, including black buck, hyena, and over 35 bird species.

The Kalaburagi district administration and the Forest Department have begun persuading residents ensconced in Sheribikanahalli Tanda (hamlet) located deep inside the dry-land Chincholi Wildlife Sanctuary on the Karnataka- Telangana border.
