About Digital Brand Identity Manual (DBIM)

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) launched the Digital Brand Identity Manual (DBIM) and hosted the inaugural Chief Information Officer (CIO) Conference 2025 in New Delhi.

Standardized Digital Presence:

  • Establish a cohesive and standardized digital identity for the Union Government, ensuring uniformity in color palettes, typography, iconography, and brand voice across websites, mobile apps, and social media.
  • Align with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of "Reform, Perform, Transform" to make digital governance more citizen-centric and globally competitive.

Enhanced Accessibility:

  • Simplify government websites and platforms to ensure citizens from diverse backgrounds can easily navigate and access services.
  • Integrate Bhashini voice technology, allowing voice-based access to information in 22 official Indian languages.

Centralized Content Governance:

  • Introduce the Central Content Publishing System (CCPS) to simplify content updates and improve transparency in policy dissemination.

Key Components of DBIM

DBIM Toolkit: Provides standardized design elements (e.g., logos, color schemes) to ensure uniformity across government platforms.

Gov.In CMS Platform: A centralized content management system for managing government websites, already adopted by MeitY and four other ministries.

Social Media Campaign Guidelines: Standardize digital communication to maintain a consistent brand voice and engagement strategy across platforms.

Expected outcome

Citizen-Centric Governance: DBIM will improve trust in government services by ensuring a seamless, consistent digital experience.

Global Competitiveness: Aligns with India’s vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, positioning the country as a leader in digital governance.
