About the "eShram – One Stop Solution"

The platform acts as a bridge to make it easier for unorganized workers to register and access government welfare schemes

It consolidates data from various government departments into one place. Key welfare schemes like the One Nation One Ration Card, Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, and Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan have been integrated with the eShram platform to ensures that workers can easily navigate and benefit from multiple schemes without having to visit different portals.

About eShram Portal

It was launched in August 2021 with the aim to provide easy access to unorganized sector workers to various social security schemes. More than 30 crore workers have been registered on the portal.

It creates a comprehensive National Database of Unorganised Workers (NDUW), which includes details like name, occupation, address, educational qualification, skill types, and family details, this database to be linked with Aadhaar to ensure accuracy and authenticity.

Key Features

Each registered worker receives a Universal Account Number (UAN).

Workers can register themselves on the portal using a self-declaration process.

The portal integrates multiple welfare schemes such as the One Nation One Ration Card, Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), and Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan. This integration ensures that workers can access benefits from different schemes through a single platform.

The portal collaborates with state governments to ensure that workers at the grassroots level are included and can access the benefits they are entitled to.
