The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has launched the enhanced Certificate of Origin (eCoO) 2.0 System.
It is an upgraded version of the Certificate of Origin (CoO) platform launched by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) to simplify the certification process for exporters, enhance trade efficiency, and improve the Ease of Doing Business.
The system introduces advanced features such as multi-user access, Aadhaar-based e-signing, an integrated dashboard, and Certificate of Origin feature for corrections.
It also supports mandatory electronic filing of Non-Preferential Certificates of Origin and introduces provisions for Back-to-Back Certificates of Origin.
Back-to-Back Certificates of Origin are issued for goods not of Indian origin that are intended for re-export, trans-shipment, or merchanting trade. The DGFT introduced this feature to ensure transparency, accuracy, and faster processing times, making it particularly beneficial for intermediary trade through India. |
