  • The FLNAT part of the New India Literacy Plan was held on March 19, 2023, in ten States and UTs of the nation to evaluate the fundamental reading, writing, and numeracy abilities of the neo-literates.
  • Youth and college students participated as volunteer instructors to plan teaching and learning activities.
  • More than 22.70 lakh students took the Foundational Literacy and Numeracy Assessment Test (FLNAT) to pass and be deemed literate.
  • Madhya Pradesh saw the most number of students (9, 25,854).
  • In cooperation with NIOS, Foundational Reading and Numeracy Assessment Tests will be administered twice a year to certify learners.
