The India Internet Governance Forum (IIGF 2024) was organised on December 9-10, 2024, at the Bharat Mandapam Convention Center in New Delhi.
It aims to examine essential elements of Internet governance, promote meaningful dialogue, and underline India's leadership in the global digital landscape.
The theme for IIGF 2024 is "Innovating Internet Governance for India."
The event centred on addressing key challenges such as closing the digital divide, increasing trust and safety in the online environment, and leveraging advanced technologies for national development.

Developing balanced legal and regulatory frameworks to improve Internet governance.
Promoting responsible artificial intelligence for societal benefit.
Create a sustainable, energy-efficient digital ecosystem.
Increase trust and safety through cybersecurity and online protection measures.
It is India's part of the United Nations Internet Governance Forum (UN IGF) which was founded in 2021 to encourage collaborative discussions among diverse stakeholders.
The forum addresses issues such as cybersecurity, digital inclusion, data privacy, and emerging technologies, assisting in the development of policies for an open, secure, and accessible internet.
It is supported by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and the National Internet Exchange of India (NIXI).
A 14-member multi-stakeholder committee manages the forum, which encourages collaboration among government, civil society, industry, technical communities, and think tanks.
