Context :

Khanjar-XII is the 12th edition of the annual India Kyrgyzstan Joint Special Forces Exercise.
The exercise is set to take place in Kyrgyzstan in march 2025.

Key Details:

1st Held: in December 2011 in Nahan India.
Frequency: it is an Annual event. It happens alternating between India & Kyrgyzstan.
Indian Contingent: Parachute Regiment (Special Forces).
Kyrgyzstan Contingent: Kyrgyz Scorpion Brigade.

Objectives:

Primary Goal: it exchange expertise in counterterrorism operations & special forces tactics.
Focus Areas:
- Mountainous and high altitude environments.
- Advanced sniping.
- Close quarters combat.
- Complex building interventions.
- Mountain warfare techniques.

Cultural Engagement:

Cultural Ties: Along with military exercises, the exercise will also promote cultural exchange including the celebration of the Kyrgyz New Year festival Nowruz.
