Mera Peak:

  • It is located in the Khumbu region of Nepal.
  • It lies at 6,476 m above sea level.
  • It is the highest trekking peak in Nepal.
  • It dominatesthe watershed between the Hinku and Hongu Drangkas.
  • Mera Peak has 3 distinct summits,and they are North Mera Peak (6,476m/21,240 ft), Central Mera Peak (6,461m/21,190 ft), and South Mera Peak (6064m/19890 ft).
  • Mera Peak provides 360-degree panoramic views of five mountains over 8000m: Mount Everest (8848m), Kangchenjunga (8586m), Lhotse (8516m), Makalu (8485m) and Cho Oyu (8201m) as well as many other peaks of Khumbu Region.

The literal meaning of Kanchenjunga is “The Five Treasures of Snows” (namely gold, silver, gems, grain, and holy books). Kangchenjunga section contains five peaks and the region has 12 more peaks over 7,000 m (23,000 ft).

Kangchenjunga is located at the border of India and Nepal in the great Himalayas range, Sikkim.
