About MK III helicopter:
- Manufactured by: Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL).
- ALH Mk-III is a multi-role, multi-mission versatile helicopter in 5.5 tonne category.
- To date, over 300 of these aircraft have been delivered by HAL and are being flown by the Armed Forces
- Significance:
- It represents a leap towards self-reliance in the field of military aircraft.
- It has multirole capabilities, including maritime surveillance, support for Special Forces, and medical evacuations besides search and rescue roles.
