Context:

Delhi becomes the 28th assembly to adopt the National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA) to digitize legislative processes.

About National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA)

It is a digital platform developed by the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs (MoPA) to enhance legislative functioning by digitizing House business and providing real-time access to essential documents such as agendas, bills, and reports.

It allows all parliamentary members to access house business information on their phones and tablets, streamlining legislative tasks.

Through the NeVA platform, ministers and members manage parliamentary work like accessing house proceedings, answering questions, and participating in discussions.

By hosting the platform on Meghraj National Cloud, NeVA ensures secure, disaster-proof, and reliable functioning for all legislatures.

Contribute to Environmental Sustainability

NeVA reduces carbon footprints by eliminating the need for paper in legislative processes, which aligns with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 15—Life on Earth.

By digitizing documents, notices, bulletins, and other legislative materials, NeVA supports eco-friendly practices. For example, parliamentary members no longer depend on printed papers for daily agendas or committee reports. Instead, they access everything digitally, ensuring a sustainable and green legislature.

What services are accessible?

NeVA serves a wide range of users, including all members of parliamentary houses, ministers, house/secretariat staff, governmental department staff, and even citizens. It provides seamless access to critical services such as:

  • List of Business : Daily agendas for legislative sessions.
  • Papers to be Laid : Documents tabled in the house.
  • Bills Management : Drafting, consideration, and passing of bills.
  • Committee Reports : Insights from legislative committees.
  • Questions and Answers : Handling queries and responses.
  • Bulletins : Updates on house activities.
