- He emphasized encouraging research, and scholarship among the youth and making history more attractive.
- He also discussed ways to make the PM-Sangrahalaya more popular among youngsters.
Nehru Memorial Museum and Library (NMML)
- The Nehru Memorial Museum and Library (NMML) was established in memory of Jawaharlal Nehru.
- It is located in the Teen Murti House, New Delhi, the official residence of the first Prime Minister of India.
- It is an autonomous institution under the Union Ministry of Culture.
- It has four major constituents;
- A Memorial Museum
- A library on Modern India
- A Centre for Contemporary Studies
- The Nehru Planetarium
- The library has been designed and developed as a specific research and reference centre on colonial and post-colonial India with its very rich and varied collection of books, journals, photographs and other resource materials on microfilm and microfiche.
- It has a rich manuscript section.
- It also acquires and preserves private papers of distinguished individuals and records of political and other non-official organizations, associations and societies that played a significant role in the development of modern India.
- These archival materials are an important primary source of information for research and are made available to scholars.
- The NMML aims to contribute to a better understanding of Modern and Contemporary India, and thus serve as a link with the past and the future of India.
