It enhances transparency in public spending and ensures accountability in government schemes by facilitating efficient data management.
ODK is integrated with the CAG's operating system, One Indian Audit & Accounts Department One System (OIOS), to streamline data collection.
It provides end-to-end encryption, ensuring the security of the collected data.
The platform helps in identifying problem areas that require further review by collecting data from various sources.
ODK supports launching surveys in multiple languages simultaneously, enabling wider reach and inclusivity.
ODK conduct beneficiary surveys, which are an important source of information for audits.
It was also used to assess patient satisfaction while auditing the performance of AIIMS in Mangalagiri and Bibinagar, providing useful insights into the institutions' effectiveness.
The CAG is established under Article 148 of the Constitution of India.
It is responsible for auditing the accounts of the Union and State governments, as well as other public entities. It ensures the proper management of public funds and is accountable to the Parliament or the State Legislatures.
The President of India appoints the CAG by warrant under his hand and seal. The CAG can only be removed in the same manner and on the same grounds as a Judge of the Supreme Court.
The CAG holds the same status as a Judge of the Supreme Court of India.
The salary and other service conditions of the CAG are determined by Parliament. After the appointment, these conditions cannot be altered to the disadvantage of the CAG.
The CAG is not eligible for any further office under the Government of India or any State Government after leaving office.
