Role in freedom struggle
She has worked for women’s empowerment. She was also a member of the All-India Women's Conference and worked to improve the status of women in India.
After India became independent in 1947, Sarojini Naidu was appointed as the first woman Governor of Uttar Pradesh. She served in this role until her death on March 2, 1949, in Lucknow.
Sarojini Naidu remains a role model for women in India and around the world. Her courage, dedication, and leadership inspired millions of Indians and continue to inspire generations to come.
