About Silvaguard Drone

It is an AI-powered drone developed by Dryad Networks, a Berlin-based environmental IoT startup.

It plays an important role in wildfire management by improving early detection, accurate location mapping, and real-time monitoring of wildfires.

It works with Dryad’s existing fire detection system, Silvanet, to provide detailed infrared images, video footage, and geographic coordinates of fires.

By delivering actionable data to firefighters quickly, the Silvaguard drone improves firefighting efficiency and helps prevent wildfires from escalating into disastrous events.

Silvaguard drone work with Dryad Networks’ Silvanet system

  1. Dryad Networks integrates the Silvaguard drone with its Silvanet wildfire detection system to create a seamless wildfire monitoring solution.
  2. The Silvanet system uses solar-powered gas sensors attached to trees to detect wildfires at the smoldering stage.
  3. Each sensor protects an area roughly the size of a football field and connects via a wireless network.
  4. When Silvanet detects a fire, it activates the Silvaguard drone to fly to the location.
  5. The drone captures high-resolution images, infrared visuals, and videos of the fire -> It sends this information, with exact geographic coordinates, to firefighters in real time.

Traditional wildfire management depends on manual observations or satellite imagery -> Can delay detection and response times -> Silvaguard drone, by combining AI technology with IoT sensors, reduces response times and minimizes damage caused by wildfires.
