Context

  • The Allahabad High Court rejected the petition seeking an inquiry into the "history" of the Taj Mahal. The court dismissed the petition which asked for the opening of the doors of its 22 rooms to see "the truth, whatever it is."
  • The court maintained the stance that, the issue lies outside the court and should be done by various methodologies and should be left with the historians.
