Details

The NICDC Logistics Data Services Ltd. (NLDSL) launched the ULIP Hackathon 2.0 to address key logistics challenges such as sustainability, complex supply chain processes, unified documentation, and multimodal logistics optimization.

“Track Your Transport” App

NLDSL launched the “Track Your Transport” app to improve the logistics sector and to ensure accessibility to small transporters and traders by eliminating the need for heavy investment in IT infrastructure.

The app offers features like:

  1. Users can track their cargo no matter how it is transported.
  2. Vehicle and Driver Verification to ensure safety and reliability.
  3. User-friendly and cost-effective technology.

About Unified Logistics Interface Platform

It was launched in September 2022 to connect different government systems to boost enterprises' accessibility to important logistics data.  It is a part of the National Logistics Policy.

It links information from 37 systems from 10 ministries across the logistics value chain making it easier for businesses to find what they need.

It reduces the complexity of various processes like compliance and approvals, stakeholders can easily access the necessary documents and certifications.

It creates a space for sharing data between government and private organisations involved in logistics to promote better cooperation and communication.

Highlights National Logistics Policy 2022

  1. The main objective of the Policy is to make it easier to move goods and services across India. Currently, high logistics costs are seen as a major obstacle to both internal and external trade. The policy aims to reduce these costs significantly.
  2. Reduce logistics costs from the current 14-18% of India’s GDP to around 8%, which aligns with global best practices seen in countries like the US, South Korea, and Singapore.
  3. The policy is expected to enhance manufacturing and infrastructure development. A stronger logistics sector will make business operations smoother and create more job opportunities, leading to better wages and working conditions.

About NICDC Logistics Data Services Ltd. (NLDSL)
