About the World Audio Visual Entertainment Summit (WAVES)

It is an international event that India will host from February 5-9, 2024, in New Delhi.

It aims to showcase India's creative talent and position the country as a hub for world-class content creation, drawing inspiration from events like the World Economic Forum in Davos.

It will promote collaborations between Indian and international media, entertainment, and creative professionals.

This summit aligns with India’s ambition to become a $5 trillion economy by promoting the creator economy, including sectors like Bollywood, regional cinema, animation, gaming, and entertainment technology.

The primary objectives of WAVES are:

It acts as a platform for thought leadership, sparking meaningful conversations with industry leaders from around the world.

It aims to fuel Intellectual property (IP) creation, both for India and the global market, encouraging innovation and creativity at all levels of the industry.

It aims to make India an attractive business environment for global investors, ensuring sustained growth and long-term prosperity for the M&E sector.

Why is the WAVES Summit compared to the Davos World Economic Forum?

The WAVES Summit is compared to the World Economic Forum in Davos because both events provide a global stage for showcasing a country’s potential in a specific sector.

Just as Davos attracts economic leaders, WAVES will bring together global entertainment and creative professionals to discuss, collaborate, and innovate, positioning India as a hub for content creation and cultural exchange.
