Context:

• The Ministry of Education has formed the National Steering Committee for the development of National Curriculum Frameworks on 21-9-2021.
• Chairperson: K Kasturirangan

Objective/Terms of Reference:

• As per the perspectives of the NEP 2020, the Committee will develop four National Curriculum Frameworks
  • the National Curriculum Framework for School Education,
  • National Curriculum for Early Childhood Care and Education,
  • National Curriculum Framework for Teacher Education
  • National Curriculum Framework for Adult Education.

Points of National Education Policy regarding Curriculum :

• knowledge from ancient India “will be incorporated in an accurate and scientific manner throughout the school curriculum wherever relevant”
• Indian Knowledge Systems, including tribal knowledge and indigenous and traditional ways of learning, will be covered and included in mathematics, astronomy, philosophy, yoga, architecture, medicine, agriculture, engineering, linguistics, literature, sports, games, as well as in governance, polity, conservation.
